This module provides an overview of professional and contractual responsibilities of a quantity surveyor in the consultant group from the design stage to the final account stage. Besides that, it also focus on the importance of a clear understanding of the organization and administration of quantity surveyor practices and the legal and contractual procedures in relation to building procurement.
 
        Our lecturer, Sr. Chang Khong Thong always provides us with sufficient examples during lecture in order to assist us in understanding better of every chapter. He also provides us with some tutorial questions in order to enhance the knowledge of every chapter. After we have trying out the tutorial questions, he will discuss the answer with us so that we are able to know the mistakes we did wrong.
 
        For our midterm test, we are tested on the tender documentation, introduction to role of quantity surveyor and procurement. I was not able to finish on time in this test as I think that there are too much questions for us to attempt already. Through this test, I know that I should speed up my speed in writing and shorten the time to think on a certain questions so long. I should proceed to the questions that I have confidence to answer first so that I will not lose the marks on it.
 

        For this module, we have no group assignment but individual assignment. The individual assignment was given a scenario for us to make decision on the best procurement, tendering and contract arrangement to meet all of the requirements that stated in the scenario if possible. Through this assignment, I am able to identify the roles of various parties involved in the building team and their construction contracts and contractual obligations.
 
        Overall, I think this module is not easy and it is very useful for our future. I will study hard on this module in order to score well in final exam.
