This module provides an introduction on the principle of estimating and components prices such as material, plant, wastage, profit and labour. Throughout this module, I found that brickwork is the hardest topic for me as it needs to measure a lot of items and we required to interpret the information which should be taken according to different situations. Once u interpreted wrongly, it will affect the calculations and the back part as well. Our lecturer, Pn. Azrina Md Yaakob, always remind us to highlight the points that we need to use for calculations so that this can prevent us from missing measure some items or the points should be used will be more obvious.
 
        In this module, there was no midterm test but two coursework are required to complete. The first coursework is divided into two parts which are a theory question based on chapter 1 to chapter 5 and a calculation question from chapter 6 to chapter 11. The theory questions required us to do some research and every group is to present during tutorial session. Some questions have been raised by the lecturer or students. Each of us tried our best to answer the questions and when there was a mistake, our lecturer helped us to correct immediately.  The calculation for our group is on the chapter brickwork. As I mentioned before, this chapter is very hard and this is the chance for me to practice on this chapter in order to master on it. After we have done our calculation, each of us needs to tutor about 4 to 5 students on how to do the given calculation question.
 
        In addition, the second coursework is all of the students form a group to participate in a tender exercise. Each group consists of 8 to 10 members and each group needs to have a company name in order to let our lecturer sent the tender invitation. After we accept the tender invitation, we started to find the quotations from supplier or obtain the price from the Construction Industry Development Board Malaysia’s website or Jabatan Kerja Raya’s website. Through this coursework, I am able to do revision as I need to recall back the chapters which taught by lecturer during class. I trust this can make my revision easier before final exams.
 
        Lastly, I will spend more time to practice on the calculations as it carries more marks than theory in final exam. I also will read through the questions carefully before attempting so that I am able to apply the correct information.
