QSB 4424 Project Management
This module exposes student to the principle, techniques and managerial issues, which form the process of project management. The area of study focuses in particular on project management in a construction context but will also make considerable reference to the activity in other fields of commercial and business activity to emphasize the broad applicability of the principle.
In this module, we are assigned to one individual assignment and one group assignment. For individual assignment, we are required to build a table of activity and duration for all activities as well as provide the critical path and Gantt chart of these activities by using Microsoft Project. In the end of this assignment, we are able to develop a better understanding in using the Microsoft Project.
Furthermore, the group assignment required us to prepare a project brief on the background, justification, objective, description, benefits and cost estimation, suggested monitoring and control as well as the summary of the whole project. Through this assignment, we are able to learn practically on the process to prepare a project brief to the clients in the role of project manager.
In the end of this course, I am able to define project characteristics, objectives, organizations and success. The possible risk that a project manager may face during the process of development can also been identified. Besides that, a broad knowledge of the professional roles, duties and responsibilities of the Project Manager can be listed and an understanding of the strategies for the execution of the development process in response to the client’s objectives can be determined.
